Sometimes the biggest changes in life are the ones that finally bring us home to ourselves.

For years, I worked as a business professional. It was structured, predictable, and on paper, it made sense. But deep down, something was missing. I felt pulled toward a different kind of work — one that felt more meaningful, more connected, and more aligned with who I truly am.

That pull eventually led me to make a leap that surprised a lot of people: I changed my career and started Little Britain Pet Resort.

From Boardrooms to Dog Runs

Leaving a professional business career wasn’t an easy decision. It meant stepping away from familiarity and into the unknown. But what I gained was something I didn’t even realize I was searching for — fulfillment.

Trading meetings and deadlines for muddy boots, wagging tails, and early mornings with dogs has been a huge change. It’s more physical, more emotional, and far less predictable — and yet, I’ve never been happier.

Finding What I Love to Do

Working with dogs has shown me what it truly means to love your work. Every dog is different. Some arrive confident and playful, others anxious and unsure. Learning who they are, earning their trust, and watching them settle in is incredibly rewarding.

Spending my days with so many different personalities has taught me patience, empathy, and presence. Dogs live in the moment, and being around them daily has a way of grounding you and reminding you what really matters.
